Im bouncing between TRD Pro and Off Road. Off road around my place is bumpy fire trails, some deeper ruts. I like the PRO- and have driven an Off road and like the ride on regular roads and highways... Who has a PRO- and does it ride similarly to the Off road? Of course sales guys tell you that the PRO with its fox shocks ride sweeter in all conditions... whats the bottom line?
    Thanks!

If you're driving just on Fire Roads the TRD OR is perfect for that, unless you're doing any extreme stuff on the weekends I would save my money not waste it on the Pro....

If you have the money for the pro get the pro. The OR is perfect for just about anything though. Pro is for if your feeling frisky.

I've driven both on the Road the Pro is a more cushy ride but more body roll in the turns, the OR a little more firm and less body roll which I prefer on the Road..

Thanks.... I ordered a PRO. They tell me 6 months, maybe more- there just aren't any in northern California. The bit more cushy ride is what I am after-

Great- Has anyone put an aftermarket chip and seen good results in power torque-- and what do you recommend?

Apparently Toyota's code is hard if not so far impossible to crack. No one yet has been able to make a performance chip for these yet.

If you want more power, your best bet is the Tundra. Others have also leaned towards the 4runner.

yeah, the Tundra is just too big.... I also looked at the Raptor- awesome truck, just too big. I do like the better mileage, so if they come out with a chip, I'll put one in, if not- we will live with the power....

i have a Pro and love the ride, but i also found it too soft for me being mainly on road. i added Sumosprings in the rear and a Hellwig rear sway bar with my E tires to tighten it up. the ride is perfect now, i wouldn't change a thing, and that's saying a lot since i tend to modify my vehicles right to the point of total loss. here i am at 6k miles and i'm done, which is amazing to me.

btw if you're in a MT truck i might recommend trying a Pedal Commander for more throttle response and low rpm grunt. it makes a big difference for many of the MT guys. i wouldn't recommend it for the AT's since they're just too weird it seems. i hated the power delivery before adding the PC, now i love driving my truck and can't get enough.

Thanks-- I ordered an AT-- live in Northern Cal and can't stand shifting in traffic. When It gets here Ill see how it is. If its too soft Ill take your advice-- one question-- what are E tires?

E rated tires, heavy truck tire rating that many around here consider total overkill for a Tacoma. functionally, i agree. but i also believe that driving on C rated tires is like driving on bubble gum, and i hate it. aside from personally preferring E tire handling in my truck (goes great with the Pro suspension), they are relatively bullet proof especially when compared to C/SL rated tires.
