Hello to Tacoma World. I picked up a great looking red 4wd 2007 Tacoma at a police auction with only 60k miles on it and got plates and registration for it first try with no problems. The only warning light I have is round red seat belt thing that I am not sure what to do with. So with the recent news about Takata air-bag dangers and malfunctions, do any of you know how to disable the complicated system of airbags and shoulder belt tighteners entirely? I am over 60 years old and never in an accident and I think that if I ever do I am more likely to be injured by the exploding air bags. It's a nice idea, the air bags, but I'd rather take my chances with the standard seat belts than risk death from an air bag exploding in my face or breaking my neck. Thanks .

    Hello, welcome to TW.

The light your describing is the air bag light. And that indication is that something is malfunctioning with the system.

    Welcome to TW

Did couple searches on here and google and only thing I see at quick glance is to disconnect it.
Or you get a steering wheel with no airbag.

Try disconnecting the wire under the seat. Or reconnecting if already unplugged.

OK thanks you guys. Now any of you have an opinion on those K&N lifetime (supposedly) air filters? I took this one off and looked thru it. I can see a lot of light thru there. This Arizona dust is like the finest powder imaginable. Any of you all tried the K&N lifetime filters? .

I had one when I bought my truck. Threw it away. It gunked up my MAF sensor and a lot of dust passed through it. I went back to regular paper filters and haven't had a problem since.

    Welcome to TW :)

No power gain and questionable filtering, (researchers results) and if you over oil it (after cleaning) it may foul your MAF sensor.
I do have one in my sig. car I service it 1-2 a year and I don't "wheel" with that car!:burnrubber::wink:
