Well as promised but a little late on timing. Here is the aftermarket kit. Again my reasoning for installing it is for the 4 conductor aux jack. The stock cover flap looks better, but this isn't a bad option. Hope the images work.

Has anybody tried to use that factor plug and make it so that it's usb and aux plug on both ends? Basically making it an extension plug.

Had to revive this thread from the dead as I just spent the last few hours messing with this. It looks easier than it is to actually do it!

I must say this was a very finicky mod to do, but well worth the results. The 3.5mm audio jack was slightly difficult only because I had several audio jacks I hacked up in order to make a quick disconnect style connector which hooks up to the units supplied extension 3.5mm jack. For the USB portion, I tried lifting the HU's USB input pins, but it still wouldn't work, so what I ended up doing, was taking a sewing needle to the stock USB connection and had to raise the tiny pins less than a MM and they ended up making contact at last with my shaved down Pioneer AVIC8000NEX units USB input port.

The stock access port now works just as it originally did now though. And I get that same stellar sound that the unit is capable of putting out, all while keeping my 3000+ songs right at my fingertips.

Now to figure out how to get my Sirius XM and my backup camera visual connection back, then I am DONE!

Instead of doing so many mods to the housings and cables...would it be easier to actually get your hands on a pig tail with plug from a donor car and then modify the usb and aux cables there?

If you're Looking for a port that actually has a usb end The aux and usb port for a chevy cruze has a mini-usb connector on the end. Could go from the mini to a fullsize with an adapter.

Has anyone figured out how to wire up all 5 wires? I plan on hacking up my oem harness to do this. Just needing to know what wires go to what to get the AUX port functional. Thanks

Is there a thread on how to connect an USB to the Jbl OEM unit?

Bump for a future mod. Just ordered a 12 lower panel trim and tundra aux/usb port.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead BUT... My truck has the USB and the AUX port side by side. I wonder if I could tie them together? Or make it so the USB will play the aux.

It is currently the stock one, nothing touchscreen. Although I am interested in changing that out in the coming months.
