I actually work on components inside the clamshell, 3 stages of turbine wheels, spacers, 16 stages of compressor wheels, forward and aft stub shafts and a distance piece.
I run a machine that polishes both sides of said wheels for better mating.

Atleast you don't have "Satans goatheads" heavy metal band practicing in a shed 50 ft from your bedroom window.

They are actually pretty good(not there real name, idk what it is).
And i'm all for kids exploring their musical talents. My parents put up with my band practicing at home in high school. We played metallica, kiss, bad company. All kinda stuff.

They just pick the most unoportune time to practice. Apparently my HOA disbanded and I didnt know it. Next thing...boom, practice time.

The homeowner who I dont know that well, invited me over for 2 outdoor events that they had in the yard. Huge crowd of a bunch of highschoolers. They played really well.

Hell, i'm 50 and Slayer, megadeth, metallica are always playing in the car.

Night shift makes the world go round :militarypress:

I hear you. We got some new neighbors on the south side of us. 12 ish acre ranch. They completely renovated it. New driveway, barns, fences, wells... Lots of heavy construction for almost a year straight I swear. It is slowing now though. Running out of money I guess, or hope

Been on it a little over a year now and love it. Been asked 3 times to go back to day shift and luckily I have seniority ;) so I just send the next guy back and stay where I belong ;)

I'm not sure I could pass up a dayshift opportunity right now... Depends on the schedule I guess. And the $$. Night-shift differential is pretty sweet here.

Not bad here. Right now my "set" schedule is Monday night-Thursday night 645pm-7am. Been working every Friday all year and the occasional Saturday as well. Rackin in some hours for sure. Supposed to have a weekend shift starting up April 1st but lord knows around here April 1st means the beginning of next year
