Weird noise coming from engine bay

    My 08 2.7 tacoma recently started making a rattling noise coming from inside the engine bay. I can't quite figure out what it is, it will not do it at idle and only seems to want to do it at about 3 grand and up, only when accelerating. There's also a weird but faint smell in my truck that started about the time I noticed the noise, anyone have any ideas?
