Tires: one size up from stock - 31" - 265/70R17 BFG All Terrains. All Pro Offroad Lola Fox shocks suspension kit. Front has 2.25" lift from AP upper control arms and Fox 2.5 coil-overs. Rear has 1.5" of lift from 3 add-leafs and 2.0 Fox's. Deleting rear overload leaf makes for much nicer ride, with near empty truck. Aluminum skid plate is next, RCI looks like the best.
So stock tires are 265 65/r17 and that's my spare size. But bought the truck with 265 70/r17 BFG AT's. Will that 65/r17 spare work? Obviously in 4WD it would be a bad idea. It looks like the 70/r17 has enough room to fit in the spares mount location, but I see a couple tabs that hold the 65/r17 snug, so some mods would be needed. Curious to here if any of you have a solution for using the stock spare location with one size over tire?

My 265/70r17 spare fits fine after I tapped the tabs you speak of with a hammer to open them just a little.
