Did they advertise an exact match? They'll say your truck is "sun faded"!
Personally I would have refused delivery and not paid them a dime! Mismatch looks like SHIT!

Called the dealer and I'm going by this afternoon to speak with them. Not sure what will come of it but will update.

Here's a picture from farther away, and the paint code confirming MGM:

Possibly. We'll see what happens with the dealer. I just bought this truck a few months ago from an old dude who kept it garaged and claims only to have used it when the snow was bad. No way of telling if this is true but there are only 15K miles on it.

Went by the dealer this afternoon. They were great about it-- they took the cap off and it's on the next truck back to the factory, along with the fuel door so LEER can (hopefully) match it appropriately. The dealer is also a body shop and noted that Toyota's MGM is a notoriously difficult color to match. I'm irritated that it has to go back but hoping this next paint job is a success. Will take two to three weeks before it's back. :\

I've been lucky with paint match on MGM with both Leer and ARE. Exact match first time. Glad you were able to send it back without a hassle. It really looked bad. They shouldn't have a problem getting a good match especially with sending the gas door.

PITA but OK in the long run--sometimes it's a longer run that we would like...

I paint cars for a living it's actually not that difficult to match, Theres several variances to 1G3 but for the most part I choose the prime variance but I have had a couple that I had to adjust my color, to a redder flop, but here's something you should know sometimes it's the factory fault that some cars don't really match to others , when they are about to change colors in the line they don't actually wash and clean out there paint lines/drums they just flush it out and dump the next color so you may have residue from the previous color and may have changed the look of your 1g3 or any Paint code they are changing to . Or maybe leer dropped the ball when they mixed 1G3

    UPDATE!

Cap came back yesterday and was installed same day by the dealer. So in total it took almost five weeks to have it shipped out and repainted. Still not happy about that, especially the turnaround time, but the good news is that the second round they've done much better with the paint match. In bright sunlight head-on it's a pretty darn close. They also didn't lose my fuel door, for which I was thankful.

Nice to see it worked out. Glad you stuck to your guns and made them fix it. The 5 weeks will certainly be worth not being frustrated every time you look at it.

    Workin' on it....
Wow, that is not only the wrong shade but seems to be the wrong color too. For 2k+ I would have them make it right.

Edit: Glad they got it fixed.
