I love my taco but the family is growing and the truck just doesn't make sense anymore. Dealerships are offering me 24k for it. I like the tundra but need some guidance. Would you buy the new tundra with procomp LT?

    No.

I have a 2ND gen Tundra. Why would i spend extra money on an upgraded option package just to rip it all off and customize it as i wanted later. I will do exacty like i did before. Buy the SR5 package and change things later as i want.

I even wish you could still get a truck with AM radio only. There is no premium sterio option offered by Toyota that can't be beat by going aftermarket...and for way lots less money.

If you are on this site, you must like to work on your own vehicles.

Agreed. I really don't like procrap but my wife likes the warranty.

Confused. What does that have to do with warrantee?

The pro comp LT kit is warranted through Toyota. When I ripped out the tacos suspension I voided the warranty and pissed off the wife.

I get it, now. Didn't put that together.

Regardless, if you put on your own suspension, it does not void warrantee. Toyota has to prove whatever went wrong was caused by the lift to deny warrantee work.

And installing own suspension will be many dollars cheaper over the long run.

Just get the Tundra you want. The TRD has a pretty good suspension, I thought it was Bilstein though.

My opinion agrees with previous guy, put in the suspension you want, it'll be cheaper than the factory package. However if you don't mind spending an extra few bucks, get the limited, it's got all the features and gadgets you'll ever want (sunroof, sonar, etc).

I've been very happy with my 2nd gen Tundra and plan on doing a suspension upgrade to Bilstein 5100's when current ones wear out.

    No.

the pro comp LT kit is a big POS. Cast iron arm are heavy AF and very weak. Who cares about a warranty when it will be in the shop all the time??? Its only 14" travel. A real LT kit from Total Chaos, Camburg, or LSK is 16".

Plus for the mark up they want you can get a real LT kit. Sht, a solid MT kit cost $3k and will perform almost as well. Or you can get a MT kit with bypasses all around for $8k and even though its only 12" front, 13" rear it will blow the doors off the Pro Comp kit.

the pro comp kit is for mall crawler who don't actually off road and have wads of cash to blow

Just something to think about. The crewmax only comes in 5'6" bed but plenty of interior room.

You know you did not void the entire truck warranty right?
