well sad day, got rid of my 16 TRD off-road yesterday and went to a diesel. Just want to thank everyone on this site that help me with both of my Tacoma builds. 99% of the people on this site have been helpful and great people go BS with. I'll still be lurking around

Best of luck. In all likelihood you'll be back soon. The Cummins engine is reliable. The rest of the FCAU truck will fall apart around it quite quickly...

Well I hope all goes well, I will be getting a trans built soon. I have done countless hours of research for the last 2 year before buying a diesel truck. I will take care of the problems best I can

05? Make sure it doesn't have any blowby and see if the injectors have been changed. They can leak down and ruin a engine in a hurry. If it doesn't have rear wheel well liners order them yesterday. There is a piece of foam above the wheel well arch, tear it outo, clean the area and coat it with a rust prevention coating like POR15. Install the wheel well liners and enjoy your rust free bed. When you do the trans build check the rear main. Your propably going to or already do have issues with the blend doors. They make metal ones, it's a pain to change them but it's a permanent fix and well worth it. If your rear windows/locks dont work or stop working its because the wiring from the B pillar to the rear door is dry rotted and broken. Not a bad job to fix but not something I enjoyed having to fix. That's about all I can think of... I went from an FJ to a MINT 2003 Sport CTD. I didn't even keep it a year. All the stuff I mentioned plus a built Georend trans ended up being about $8000 in parts and I sold it at a small loss and ran away. It was my 3rd Cummins and first 3rd gen (1994,2001 previously) and it just wasn't the same as my 2nd gens. It ran like a raped ape but the truck itself was a complete POS. I was so glad to get back to a Toyota. Oh, and Carli ball joints. They are HIGH but man they tighten things up and have a lifetime warranty, the new Y style steering is a great upgrade as well.
