Im looking to swap 700lb springs into my icon coiovers in the near future. Is a spring compressor required when swapping spring on coilovers specifically Icon? I've watch several youtube videos of spring installation and it appears that no compressor is required. I'm thinking I need to unload all of the preload while the coilover is still mounted then remove the coilover, disassemble the bottom and swap springs? I haven't been able to find any info for icon specific so any other details are appreciated.

**I was planning on taking the coilovers to a shop for labor but will diy if it's reasonable.

You will need a spring compressor. Even with all the preload off, its still not short enough to remove the base holding the spring on. Putting the 700's on was kind of a chore, due to how much you have to compress them, but doable. I used a regular compressor that they rent from Autozone.
