    new on the site and still learning about my truck, but what I do know is fish. All together my rods/reels probably retail for more than my truck. I live on the east coast of NC so I mostly salt water fish, in fact I haven't Fresh water fished in about 10yrs. My favorite fish to catch, hence my user name, is a drum. What's yours?

    Not my biggest, but by far the best pic thanks to a friend.

    Good one! Hard to beat the Outer Banks. Plan on taking the wife and kids there soon. I'm all the way on the other side of NC from you.

    It is, but funny thing is I'm actually thinking about heading to western nc before I head to Florida later this year. Went to Shenandoah last fall and it was amazing, but I went to Cherokee when I was a child with my grandparents and I'd love to go back even if it's for a couple days.

    If you get near Cherokee give me a heads up and if you like we'll try and schedule a day trip trout fishing or I can try and put you on some decent water near Cherokee. I'm round an hour from there, but go there fishing several times a year.

    We'll see what happens when the time gets closer. I appreciate the offer and will definitely keep that in mind if I decide to make the detor.

    @DrummyTaco

    I was down there a few weeks ago just before everything went crazy. Like as soon as I came home it seems the big reds and blues showed up. Planning on coming down again Friday for the weekend. I try to follow as many tackle shops and piers down there on Facebook as I can so I can have an idea of the fishing. But based on your experience, think they'll be any big reds or big blues left down there by the weekend?

    I'm staying at the KOA in Rodanthe and usually head down and hit the beach around Buxton/Frisco (just like everyone else). And I stay away from the insanity at the point. I generally don't hit the piers, cause I have my little hound dog in tow. And even though she's about as sweet as they come, I generally get the "no dogs" response when I have tried, so I just stopped trying. I get it, but it kind of sucks.
