Transmission flush mess up,

    That spring looking fork thing gives you the klik klik feeling when you run your transmission through the gears . It also holds the manual valve in the proper position . Simply bolt it back up . There is no adjustment needed

    Thank you gearcruncher, i really appreciate this. that bolt says only 8 ft ibf, that is not to much right? i did not have a torque wrench but i hit it with two clicks with my dewalt 20v ion impact, you think i should be good or go buy a torque wrench drop the pan and torque it to specifications to make sure?

    I would double check to see if it,s tight with a hand ratchet over an impact , but I wouldn't go out and purchase a torque wrench just to finish the job

    if that bolt gets loose with there be a tell tail sign or would it just be catastrophic?

    Go try running your transmission lever through the gears with the spring and roller removed . You will not know what gear you are in . That is the purpose of the detent spring with the roller on the end .
    Can the transmission be damaged if the detent spring falls into the transmission pan ? Yes it can .
    The detent spring holds the manual valve in the correct position . If the detent spring fell into the bottom of the trans pan or became loose , there is a possibility of high pressure oil crossleaking between hydraulic circuits .

    I shouldn't even have asked that question sorry , i'm going to get the torque wrench, drain and drop the pan, do it correct and redo the fill

    I was not trying to scare you . if you have everything back together , I wouldnt worry about it . The chances of the bolt coming loose are very slim . The shifter will feel unresponsive if it did come loose .

    Not 'scare' but talk 'sense into' me... I mean why risk a 3500 transmission for a bolt and a few hours worth of time.

    Checked the bolt it was snug as a bug...
