Will the cops give you grief since the red reflector appears to be behind a smoked lens?

    Nope.

Yes and the red leds blink for turns and emergency flashers. The strip is the tail light. They're MUCH brighter than the factory tail lights. Not even comparable. Rear turn signals aren't all amber you know... even on many factory vehicles these days...

Oh, I know it very well. That's the problem that I am addressing with 3rd Gen lights. IMO, you upgraded the look factor but downgraded the turn signal.
Either way cool looking, love the running light bar. Are there built in load resistors on the back of the housings?

Yeah, sure is. You're correct, I guess I did downgrade the turn signal, but the risk I'm willing to take I suppose.

Any progress with addressing the 3rd gen tails? Any aftermarkets with an amber option? I actually don't mind the entire rear end of the 3rd gens. Its the front that I'm not in love with.

No aftermarket available at this time.
I have a set in the works that will address all the issues Toyota Failed on.
This is what I have came up with:

Bright AMBER AND REVERSE. Best of both worlds:)

thank you sir! Yours are nice as well. I'd just like to get my hands on some and rip them apart to see what I could upgrade.
I'm weird like that, and will never be satisfied.
