I've got a Leer camper shell with sliding side windows. One of them had the metal handle that attaches to one end come unglued from the glass and now I'm trying to JB weld it back on. It would be relatively simple if I could remove the sliding portion of the window and glue the handle back on while it's outside of the window track. However when I started removing the fasteners that hold at least the window trim on the inside, it appeared that the window is one unit and it won't be easy to get the slider out.

I chose to stop there for now, and I'm sure at some point you could disassemble the window, however I didn't want to take the full window out unless I was better informed. Does anyone have experience messing with these things? Thank you.

This is what the window looks like right down to the hex head screws that hold the border on from the inside.

Not sure how to remove the window, but I would use weatherstrip adhesive not jb weld.

I've been considering how to glue the metal handle to the glass and I'm thinking about calling a company that deals with glass a lot. Any specific products you have in mind? The material has to stand up to heat and the force of pulling on the handle to slide the window open. Looks like someone had used some two sided foam tape or something if that nature that couldn't stand up to either, especially the heat.

3m weatherstrip adhesive, you can get it in yellow or black, its a contact adhesive, clean the parts with alcohol and a razor blade, then goop the window where the handle goes and the handle slot, wait for it to skin and then attach handle where you want it ( make sure of placement cause once they touch its permanent) nice thing is if there's extra material you can trim it with a razor. Should be able to hold up to the heat and multiple pulls.

If this doesn't work, your only out a couple bucks and time cause 3mWA is just really good rubber cement that can be cleaned off.

This would be my first attempt at fixing if that doesn't work, I would seek out a leer dealer.

I would stop at the local Leer dealer and ask how they would fix it.
