Anybody else notice there seems to be a large backorder on 5160s? I know headstrong is out indefinitely and so is 4 Wheel Parts and it all seems to be one side (side specific shocks) can't remember if it's the driver or pax side that is out.

Problem I had was some of the bigger places like 4wp say they have them in Stock online. Then a week later they tell you they're back ordered. Make sure you call and check that they actually have them on the shelf. Many of them just pull from the manufacturer and don't keep inventory on hand. Supposedly bilstein is back ordered to late April now.

Yes this is true. I ordered a 6112/5160 kit from Headstrong a week or two ago, website indicated all in stock. Turns out somebody had put some L side 5160's in the R side bin. Long story, I was given the option of getting 2 L side shocks or waiting weeks/months for Bilstien to restock them. I talked with Matt at HS on the phone, he said there's is no concrete evidence R-side and L-side have different damping, the shocks are identical. Basically L-side has the brake line relocation hardware and R-side does not. Same remote reservoir and mounting kit. All or nearly all other Taco rear shocks are identical L-R so it is hard to understand why Bilstein would spec different damping for one (I know what the product literature says but if you call Bilstein they can't really explain why).

Anyway I received my kit and put it on Saturday. No issues on install rides/works just fine. Except I have one left over brake line relo kit.
