Finally got my dream Tacoma

This will be my 3rd Tacoma, Ive had a 95 and a 97 but this low mile 2003 one is the one I have been waiting on to really make what I want. I already have some stuff on my 97. I will be moving into my 2003, which already has some upgraded stuff.

 

I figured I would rebuild my old racerunners while I have them off off before I swap them to the 03.

 

ARB needs a coat of paint.

Nice find! Both trucks are nice.

 

Freshly painted bumper is on.

 

Getting into the shock rebuild, I noticed the upper spring seat has elongated a bit. Since these shocks are obsolete, I doubt I can get this replaced, But I do have a lathe, so I might have to either repair it or manufacture a new one. Should not be a problem.

 

Finally getting my utility shell stripped and ready to paint.

 

Also went ahead and printed off the huge 03 Tacoma service manual.

 

Almost ready to go back on the truck.

Have you built out the bed of the truck, or is it still the same at this point? How do you like the barn doors?

 

I LOVE the barn doors. Bed is still the same. I like to keep it so I can haul crap if I need to. Dirt, rocks etc... I did make a shelf at about the bed rail height up in the front.

I have also added an ARB awning to the camper. And its now insulated with the R-tec insulfoam.

 

I have also added sway bar disconnects.

 

Awesome truck man, I know I've seen you around town before. Always liked that topper!

 

That shell is cool as hell. Also, where did you get the swaybar disconnects?
