    Looking at two Prerunners - very similar - a 2013 and a 2015.
    Both have towing packages.
Both have similar miles and prices - 23k - similar miles - mid50s - one concern is the 2015 got its miles in a year and half - and neither carfax shows routine maintenance at dealer - no accidents or other weirdness and maybe they were perfectly serviced just don't know. 2015 is still under warranty. Both one owner.

All things being equal if one was used to tow and the other not, should I go with the one that never towed? That would be my inclination but I am learning.

    So which one?

Ive never understood why people shy away from vehicles that had some miles on them over a 1-2 year span. I picked up my 2015 yesterday with 51k on the clock.

You can almost assume they are alot of highway miles to get to that point which in my opinion is better than city stop and go. If you are worried about towing I would check the receiver and see if it is rusted up/worn on both trucks. It can be a good indication .

    Just my 0.02:
Examine the hitches and see if either rig has done a lot of towing; personally, I'd favor the vehicle that has not towed or towed very little.

I've taken my truck to 2 Toyota dealers for service. One enters the info to car fax, the other does not. You can always ask for records from the owner, and if they don't have them and the maintenance was done at the dealer, they can log into toyotas website and get the service history with the VIN.

All things being equal, I'd prefer newer. But the 13 does have the compas temp mirror.

A lot of good info here - and elsewhere - this Forum has been a great resource.

If my truck were totaled today, I wouldn't replace it with anything other than a 2013. I love my rearview mirror with compass, temp, and back up camera. Only year with it.

And I'm being serious. My mirror means that much to me :D
