My wife tolerates my Tacoma but hated my previous 12' Tundra (was hard for her to get in/out). She drives a Lexus 350 RX (SUV)....I tolerate that! However, I read somewhere on TW that we basically share the same engine.

I was guilty of that in the past with an ex who had a Seirra 2500HD. Loved that thing. But now I have my own truck, no sharing!

Ha! Same here. She still hasn't driven my truck and I'm at 6800mi. Might think about letting her try it out when I hit 10k. Maybe.

She doesn't mind riding in it at but she hates my truck. I think she's jealous because I keep buying her things and looking at Tacomaworld for wish-list parts.

I was going to Florida with my Parents last year when the truck was brand new. They wanted to take the truck down there until they sat in the back seat and realized how limited the leg room was. Compared to their minivan there was no way. That's about it. I did get comments that the ride was really smooth in my Manual TRD Sport. But I heard the Sport had the most rigid ride especially compared to the TRD Offroad. /shrug

My girl thought the new Tacoma was the best thing on earth, that was until she saw a new 4Runner TRD sitting on the lot.... Thankfully we have plenty of choices for road trips now.

Mine was literally the person that bought the truck, traded her civic in on a whim. We went to Toyota to have my DD 2006.5 xB serviced while her car was at Honda and while we were there i wanted to test drive a 4Runner since i had been thinking about getting one. She was in love with the 4Runner but I decided against it since the next gen is on the horizon. We also test drove a used 2015 Silverado that was there. i have too many cars and not enough space so i decided the 4Runner/Tacoma was the biggest i wanted to go. after we left I said "we should have test driven a Tacoma while we were there" to which she replied "I don't want a truck of any type, ever" I have a dirt bike as well so having a truck bed makes more sense than not having one. She begrudgingly agreed to test drive a TRD sport the next day, I really wanted an OR but i was under the impression that you couldn't get an OR with a moonroof. So we got there jumped in the TRD sport that was put aside for us already and she says "this thing actually drives amazing and has everything we want just like the 4runner. Too bad I don't like the hood scoop and it makes it hard to see over the hood" she is (5'2"). My reply was "well an off-road doesn't have a scoop but it you can't get a moonroof either." That's when the sales person said "who told you that" 5 hours later we had traded in her civic and she now daily drives a 17 TRD OR with all the bells and whistles -JBL. I have barely been able to get the keys out of her hand. luckily you don't need the keys when you race to see who can get to the door first.

And that is what counts. Thank god your wife doesn't like driving in it. I wish mine didn't. A blessing in disguise.

Agree, seats are not comfortable at all. Many people have had an upholstery shop shave the foam from being flat to a more rounded fit. I'll be looking into that soon. I've heard about $100 to $150 for both front seats. People say it makes all the difference in the world.

My other ride is a BMW 550 M sport . Talk about a rough ride but the seats fit like a glove. I'm just not a one vehicle type of person. I need my fun to drive vehicle and then I need my other fun to drive vehicle.

She wants to take it everywhere. I can't wait to get her 4runner so we can kinda space the miles out between them lol.

Mine doesn't have a choice. It's our only vehicle at the moment.

She is getting sick of me doing damage inspections every time she comes home though.
