Nope.. too many variables... only way I see to get it to wk is through resistors but don't know if I'm supposed to add or subtract

I put the mirror back in the 2012 and Homelink works fine. Does anyone have any idea why it wouldn't work in the 2009, or can suggest how to troubleshoot? Does the Homelink use a separate power source (wire) from the rest of the mirror's functions?

I misread your earlier post... so my mirror doesn't have the homelink.... mine has compass/temp and BUC. Every thing on mine works but the thermometer. I'm pretty sure there's a write up on the homelink wiring though and yes I'm pretty sure it has a separate power source since I think it shows you how to wire it on constant power or only on when the ignition is on

Okay, yes, constant power vs ignition power makes sense. I'll have to compare the plugs in the two trucks to see what's different. Thanks!

So yes, the connector at the mirror in my 2009 was missing the constant power wire at Pin 8. One Pin kit 82998-24290 hooked up to the reading lamp circuit and the Homelink is working fine.

I have a gentex 957 (back up display, compass, temp) I'd like to put in my 2011 which has overhead compass/temp and back up cam display in mirror. In my headliner they compass and temp appear to be spliced and/or routed from my mirror wire bundle. I've been told that I should be plug and play for compass but temp will be more complicated to use the factory sensor on the front. Is this possibly the procedure to get that working?

I have the same mirror in my 2011. The pics you previously posted are no longer visible. I'm looking for the same set up as you anymore info?

I believe I still have the pics (they were hosted on Dropbox but then they changed their terms and do not allow photos to be hosted anymore).

I'll take a look when I'm back from holidays after the 8th.

I found another picture I had of the mirror on cloud storage (first pic).

Note that the black square in the mirror is actually a reflection of my cell phone and not a characteristic of the mirror. The display has mirror glass all the way through so it looks seamless. It's not like in those "cut out" displays like in the 2nd photo.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this.

The adapter is stuck up behind headliner so I don't want to pull it out.

All the adapter is, is a molex type connector with some wires coming out of it. Plug and play type unit.
