Almost every vehicle I have owned has had the low beams on with the high beams activated.

I know of some vehicles that don't but it's fairly common to have them stay on (maybe with Imports more so then domestics?)

If you have two separate bulbs, its a tossup, but usually I see them both on. If a single bulb, no, usually one or the other only.

My understanding is that it depends on packaging and how they want to set up the reflectors.

Both lights staying on gives you long distance output while still giving you the spread of the low beam.

The real question is, what are you doing in front of your truck while driving to notice this?

Actually, not sure I would have ever noticed this until I had a light out.

Parked in front of glass building when i bought the truck to see how the lights work....led daylighs look good but turn off when headlights come on.....can use them on park lights bonus for low and high beams working together now to get the fogs lights to work on high would be cool....

The LED's should just dim not turn off with the low beams on.
