2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the canadian victory at the Vimy Ridge in 1917, during WWI. That strategic hight was almost unexpugnable and british and french forces had unsuccessfully tried to take it from the Germans in the previous years.
One commander quoted this victory as "the birth of a nation" since canadian soldiers from all across the country took part in this successful ordeal.
There are commemorative ball caps available through the Canadian legion poppy store online. They are sharp and look great on a Tacoma driver.

I was there last year, it's insane to see all the holes from the artillery. I saw the mass gravestones and visited the beaches too. It's very humbling to see as a Canadian Forces member.
The WWI replica planes have been sitting here in Comox for months and were just put on a C-17 for the trip out to France for the flyby.

I never visited such a site myself. My wife visited Auschwitz and was profoundly disturbed by the ambiant atmosphere lingering at the place, even though nothing material reminesces of the horror.
I see you own a 2012 model year. You must be part of the majority of happy owners, like a friend of mine who is holding on to his 2010 DC V6 model.
If you are curious about my own experience, go to the 2n generation forum under the title A MYSTERY PIECE OF JUNK.`
    A good day to you.
