The sports have Hitachi shocks, but they are blue. The SR shocks are black.

Source: my best friend has a 2017 Sport. I have a 2017 SR.

I read the whole story. Looked like a blast. Anymore detaiks about how the truck handled everything? Anything to point out?

Great read man. Love your rig, love Oregon. A buddy of mine in Govy saw my taco when he was here in Vermont and said "If you ever drive that thing to oregon you'll never leave." I've been out there a few times for work and the trails are so sick out that way. Highway 101 is a hell of a drive. It brought back some good memories from my road trip to oregon and down the coast after graduation. Thank you for taking good photos as well.

    Thanks.

Truck was great. I obviously didn't tackle the snowed in roads but the sections with just a few inches of snow I had no trouble with in 4hi.

I tried something new and basically just ran in 4th gear (4cyl, manual trans) as the top gear on the way home. The truck pulled a lot better and I didn't notice any more fuel consumption, still sitting right at 19 mpg combined with minimal 4wd use. I just set the cruise at 60 on the secondary roads and 70 on the freeway sections and it pulled a lot better and maintained speed going up hills.

Billies were great in the rough stuff.

    Go fast in sand.

I need to put the back window of my soft topper back in because the opening where it should be sucks dirt in like crazy.

Really nothing else about the truck to point out. It was unremarkable which I guess is a good thing?

Thanks man. Yeah Oregon is awesome. It's hard to go wrong geographically speaking on the west coast!

I definitely spend most my time in 4th gear as well running around 26-2800 rpm, just like you said for the ease of pick up in the hills or corners

That's great info. Thanks! I had a 2016 2.7 manual 4x4 utility. It was a great truck. I got rid of it for a double cab after 5 months. In my time with it I had few complaints. My biggest issue was the traction control fighting you in 4wd if you forgot to turn it off.

Thanks again for capturing your journey and providing feedback!

X2. I used 4th gear a ton when I had my 2.7. 5th is really too tall for anything under 55 mph on flat terrain.

Thanks.I have to say I really like this truck. I really liked my 2015 but this one is so much better in my opinion.I had the cruise set at 70 mph on the drive home. The four cylinder handles it just fine.

I like them a lot. One has gotten some condensation in it, which Caliraised will replace, but I haven't bothered to warranty it yet. I doubt I will. It works fine, and I basically bought them to fill in the blanks anyway.

I generally use them as DRLs when it's raining during the daytime, and leave my headlights off; or I use them as lighting on my dark county road at night.

Question: What does the SR5 come with that the SR doesn't? It has to be more than just fog lights, right?

Digital speed odometer in my SR5 is why I stepped up a model.
