I think the Subaru/kicker tweeters make enough of an improvement That I've decided to just live with the stock stereo and door speakers. The tweeters are a vast improvement over the horrible stock dash speakers. I had an OEM+ system in my last car, so I find myself wanting more bass than there is.....but honestly, the stock cheapo door speakers put out a surprising amount of bass for what they are.

If you are wanting to upgrade speakers, do the tweeters first and then decide if you want to go further.....that's my advice.

It's hard to say....while the speaker sizes may be correct, the mounts may or may not. Also, I haven't actually seen the connectors/plugs on the door speakers....so not sure if they are the same as Subaru.

Be our guinea pig....test em out! Maybe the seller offers returns?

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!

Thanks, all I was seeing, was for a Chrysler. Then I found a Toyota 1. Figured I would order it, just to be safe.
    Thanks for your help

I saw these at the Subi dealership this past weekend and they are a direct fit for the Tacoma door speakers, to include connectors. I already replaced all four speakers with some CS series Kickers a while back and just this past weekend upgraded the tweeters with the Subaru tweeters. I would have definitely replaced if I would have known about the four door speakers due the compatibility and simplicity with the mounts and connectors.

Direct drop in? wonder how this would sound with the Subaru tweeters.

My only concern is that the speakers look much smaller... i know the mount fit up, but it seems the actual speaker isn't a 6x9"

For that particular set it's a 6x9 and 6 1/2 inch speaker, took it out of the box and saw it. What's great about it, it's a direct plug and play, where as the aftermarket ones you still have to buy the mounts and connectors. The only thing I'm unsure is what quality Kicker speakers they are, Kicker makes a few different level of quality speakers ranging from the DS sold at Wal-mart to the higher end KS line.

Keep me posted on the quality and the sound. And if you decide to do the tweeters. Might have to make a trip down to Carlsbad.

I already upgraded all of my door speakers with the Kicker CS series a while back, got all 4 at Best Buy on sale for $100.00, I added an inline Alpine amp and powered subwoofer as well. This past weekend I bought the Subaru tweeters after seeing this post, big shout out to IndyFastLane for posting this! The tweeters made a big difference in adding some front staging and bringing out a lot cleaner and crisper highs, I couldn't believe some of the sounds coming out before the upgrade. For me, this is by far one of the best upgrades/mods I've made on the Taco.

Did you listen to the speakers at all prior to installing the amp? If so, was there any noticeable improvement?

Yeah, the new Kickers sounded just 'okay' with deck power, had to really crank them up to get them alive. Once I added the amp and sub, they really sounded great. Just upgrade the tweeters and see how that sounds before you think about adding the door speakers.
