Honestly in my opinion the suspension is definitely the limiting factor on anything we can pull with these trucks. That followed by the lack of power that our motors make. Last year I pulled an inclosed car trailer, I couldn't even do the speed limit on the highway with my foot all the way on the floor and not even in high gear. That along with the fact of how bad it was squatting makes me not even question the reciever. Besides that it is built much stronger. Than the factory one.

As far as undercoating, I have never really thought about it. It dose seem like a good idea though.

I gotcha. The only thing I pull is my welder, and golf cart on a trailer. That bumper should be strong enough for that.

Yea my parents enclosed car trailer is large enough to hold a Yukon Denali XL. It is too much for my taco. It pulls great behind Thier cumins though. Last time I pulled it I ended up with a cracked leaf spring.

GsxRtaco have you thought about regearing your taco? This my plan for this weekend. I'm going to 4:56
This will put me back into the factory range of power. Since I put bigger tires on I've noticed when pulling our holiday trailer I can't keep in high gear like I had before when it was stock.

I have thought about either regearing or super charging. How much is it costing you to regear?

It cost me from JT Differential in WA to ship to Alberta with a rear pois 3600 front clampshel and a 3rd member. But should give east coast gear supply a call to see how much they'll cost from them. The guy I talk to at JT was Murphy nice guy and helpful

Sorry man haven't had a day off in two weeks. I did have a concrete guy stop by and give me an estimate for my drive way and a 32x32 slab for a shop though....

I guess I also forgot to post this, image.jpgI got a hydraulic conversation for my tubing bender I've been working on a little here and there to make more room in the garage for my truck. ( being hydraulic I am going to mount it on the engine stand to the right side of the pic so it can be moved around and not bolted to the center of my garage floor.)

I'm also considering making my rafters like the one in the top of this pic and installing a two post lift. My parents have one they don't use and I could have it if I want it.image.jpg

Still not sure if it's more worth working on the old garage or building a new one

Not bumper related, but it is a tool I use to build things for the taco.

Finally converted my tubing bender to hydraulic and made an adapter to mount it on my engine stand. Now I cans bend horizontal and vertical, and most importantly of all romoved the annoying post that was in the center of my garage holding the bender until now. I love that I can tuck it out of the way now.image.jpgimage.jpg

It's sad when you think of threads when you do stupid things.
I thought of you when ..
I tried to drill A hole in my bumper!

Just got the drivers side tacked on today actually lol. It's a very slow work in progress I haven't had any free time lately. Here's where it's at so far. I figure I have at least another 20 hours of work to do on it before I can call it finished. There is a lot more supports and small pieces in need to make and fit yet, including the flat top part for the sides, tubes to support the sides, and more strengthening in general.
