PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a tiptop years ago, man I miss that thing sometimes, but the Sammy crazy started to hit around 2010 and someone offered me $5k for a truck I had beat on pretty hard and only paid $1,400 for years before so I just had to take the money which I dumped into Land Rover I had at the time.

This has been my project for couple years started stock. Traded my 2000 Cherokee lifted nice tires custom bumpers and welded prison style rear Windows. That made out of 1"x 1" steel. And rebar. after 2-3 bad samurai motors. Rounded up the stuff to do the tracker swap. Found downer rig did swap. Lasted 4 years then blew the t case 4.1. Was not enough. Going back to stock gearing.. so I sold tracker swap and bought a 95 tacoma.. v6 3.4 drive train.. after getting it home notices t case dropped on wrong side.. after looking while Found t100 transmission and t case. With a pretty new clutch.. witch I used probably not best idea but money was tight.. after bolting it all back together. Started to build mounts for the motor. The race was one.. got it running drive shafts in. Took for first test drive. Started to over heat.. did the water pump and timing belt. Bought a 70s mustang radiator & 15" electric fan off Amazon. due to tacoma one not working.. kept over heating with that combination.. went to junk yard to see what was on shelf that might work.. left with 04 Hyundai sonata radiator and a 99 Ford focus radiator fan.. stock toyota hose didn't work on that radiator like it did on mustang radiator.. waiting to get hose then it is round 3 on solving this overheating issue!

I am currently doing the 3.4 swap into my samurai. Wondering what you did with the radiator situation and the clutch assembly

No thermostat will never not open unless it is defective stuck closed, or stuck open.

What symptoms are you having other than overheating?

There was a Manual 4x4 Samurai for sale at the Oakland Pick-n-Pull about a year ago for $998.

I came back the next day and it was gone.
