I'm getting ready to install a new head unit into my 2015 Tacoma. I want to retain factory steering wheel controls, back up camera, etc.... I was wondering what the best route to go with, idatalink maestro rr or something simpler? I like the fact of the idatalink maestro rr displays information about the truck, but was wondering if it's worth the work of installing, thoughts?

it really depends on which headunit you get, as its programmed for that as well.

I used it in 2015 Double Cab install with a Kenwood DDX-9903s, and it works really well. Took some getting used to, but im happy with it

It was worth it for me. I just finished my install this weekend. I read where a lot of people on here had trouble getting the steering wheel controls to work with the cheaper harnesses. Particularly the phone side. But for me it was worth it partly for that but also the fact that it made wiring my back up camera easier. But the gauges are fairly limited on my hu. So may be pending which hu you go with.
