So i've been lurking on this forum for the past 6 months trying to figure out my trucks problems. I searched and read about 15 different threads about each of my issues but dont know enough about engines to piece it all together.

So in November I took my 2010 Tacoma to the dealer for the leaf spring recall. They alerted me to a leak in timing cover and told me it would be $2500 to fix. I took it to my usual mechanic (a guy i really trust and never had issues with) and he quoted me at $1300 so I went with him. I get everything fixed and it sounds almost normal.

A month later my truck is riding really rough and the check engine light comes on randomly one day so i take it in again. He says its the VVT Solenoid bank 2. He replaces it...

So now another month later I noticed a clicking noise when I drive so i popped the hood and noticed oil everywhere. I take it in today and he says its the front crankshaft seal that needs to be replaced.

My question is...is this just a string of terrible luck or do you think they fucked up when they put my engine back together? I dont know if and how all these pieces are connected
