After lurking for a few weeks I've decided to make my debut to the forums. I've never owned a Tacoma before but after reading these forums I am days from getting in one myself. My house has recently become Toyota fans and I originally set out for a Tundra, till I saw the prices. I had nearly closed a deal on a used F-150 FX4 Ecoboost until some dealer shenanigans at closing made me walk away and then the subsequent drunk 2AM call that night from the young salesman. Not sure if it was a booty call or what, but that made me really not want the truck. Fast forward a few weeks and I'm back at my Toyota dealership where I've purchased 2 new cars in the past and now I am debating which color I want. Super White, Blazing Blue Pearl, or Magnetic Grey. Its going to happen soon because I want to get my boat back out in the water! Hopefully I make my mind up :fingerscrossed:

Also, here is what I'll be towing. 19ft Nautic Star 1900XS.

Welcome from another new member. You can't go wrong on any of those color choices. Mine is gray with metal flake. I like it, but there seem to be a lot of them around. Nice looking boat!

I would seriously think twice about buying a Tacoma for towing. Its overall a great truck, but towing not so great.

Welcome to TW. I will say I love the MGM which is why I bought one but teh white is another good choice. I like the Inferno but its too flashy for me to have as a DD but after seeing it in person I do like it more than before. For a fun car I'd really like it but not a DD.

How heavy is the boat? How far are you going to be towing it? Also you are not supposed to tow for atleast 1k miles(I think) while the engine breaks in.

Welcome to Tacoma World. You can't go wrong with a Tacoma. I had always been a Blue Oval Man, but I put on my Big Boy Britches 9 years ago. :mudding:

The boat weighs 1900 lbs and loaded up with fuel about 3k. This truck will yank it around no problem. At least I would hope so. I'll probably bring it back to FL to visit the family and to destin. My wife's highlander pulls it no problem. If I was rocking a 22ft weighing in at 4K then I could see stepping up.

It does about 90mph, with the N20 running! And guning it. Otherwise about 70.
But you can only run it for about 10-15 sec at a time.
    The engine gets hot.

Its fun. Ive tried fishing from it....it worked ok. Did get even a bite though.
