I'm looking to mount my hi-lift to the front bed rail, but I can't use any of the many brackets that hang down, like Allpro or Relentless. If I do it'll mess with my storage solution. So the hi-lift needs to be mounted higher up.

I'm looking to do basically what this guy did:

(the member hasn't been on in months)

Can anybody give me advice as to what hardware to use?

I was thinking I could just throw some t-slot nuts into the rail, and then just bolt into those nuts. But that sounds like a pain in the ass trying to hold the hi-lift up there while bolting into it.

Do they make something like a t-slot nut, but with a bolt instead? I'm trying to figure out how that guy got bolts coming out like that. If they're super solid, that would be ideal.

    Thanks.

You could use a carriage bolt

Use a t-slot nut with the appropriate length and size all thread then use a jamb-nut to basically make the T-slot into a bolt. Then stack some more nuts and use a washer to keep the hi-lift the appropriate distance off the bed rail and finish it off with a rubber washer and a big wingnut.

I can get you a photo of what I'm talking about when I get back home in 2 days if you want.

I did this before I built my own brackets just using carriage bolts, nuts and washers.

Using a Tslot and some ready rod would probably work better. thread the ready rod into the t-slot, then a fender washer (or 2) and a nut to hold the rod in place. Then throw your hilift on and put wing nuts or one of these knobs that I used and you're done.
