I installed new headlights that are stock but smoke colored and I took them to a lamp adjustment station and they could not get the lights to work on opposites. One light won't adjust horizontally and the other one won't adjust vertically. They used a machine to make adjustments.

I didn't get charged and will be trying myself when it's dark. I know of the two knobs behind the lights that can be adjusted with a long shank Phillips. I'm concerned if professional can't do it, will I have a chance?

    Any advice appreciated.

Did they tell you why, or just that they couldn't?

They adjusted one vertically the other horizontally and said the knobs weren't moving the lights

there was a guy on here said he actually hooked his drill to the adjuster and spun the hell out of it and it still didnt move for him. Thats when I decided that I just had to live with my headlights being all out of adjustment.

My buddy and I just worked on the light and I got it pretty near level to the other light the shop had already aligned and I got it down using a long shank Phillips.

I think their machine was defective.
