I found a # for the west coast leer factory online (not easy). They say no plans to make the 122 for 3rd gens. :(

I heard the same thing from a Leer dealer in CO.

We ordered up a Snuptop High Liner Sport. Liked the door lock setup way better than the dual locks on Leers. Can even get them keyless using factory toyota remote.

Sorry Leer dont make what we want, we will go else where!

Im sure now they will start making them...I think we will be stoked with the High Liner though!

I ended up ordering the Hi-Liner myself. I think Snugtop makes a good product from my research, talking with dealers and seeing them in person. I wasn't aware there was a keyless option. Is this a Snugtop factory option or an aftermarket install? I nearly ordered a Pop&Lock tailgate automatic lock but cancelled my order when I realized the new topper may be enough security for me when I lock it. I purchased the Pro Lock upgrade for my Hi-Liner but maybe this was a mistake if I can get a remote lock for it.

Its a factory upgrade for the pro lock setup. Should be able to have dealer add it. I think it added $150 not 100% on pricing as we got a smoking deal due to the sportsmans show going on at the same time here.

2500 otd installed with headliner, fold down front slider, oversize side windows with sliding removeable screens, keyless prolock, and yakima tracks.

I have checked and double checked on this. They are not making the 122 for the 2017 Tacoma's and ARE is not making the TD series either. I am still looking for a Cap that will be better for living in. I think the Leer 180 or the ARE MX or Century HI C are just not high enough for comfortable living in. I did find a cap made in California that is higher. It is made by ProTop. I may go that route. Any suggestions? I do want a fiberglass top though. Not an aluminum or home built.

We ordered up a Snugtop HiLiner Sport.
Pretty sweet setup...wish it was a bit taller but our lil 4 banger will probably thank us for reduced weight and drag!
Should be here in a week or so!

I have contacted a dealer of Snugtop as well. He did not have the dimensions either. Could you send me the dimension from the floor of the bed to the inside top. I would like to know if it will be enough to use as a camper for me.

Here's my installed Snugtop Hi-Liner. My gf has the truck but I can get those dimensions for you tomorrow. We plan to build out the back as a camper as well and were looking at the hi rise offerings from the big three (Leer, ARE, Snugtop) but I hated the looks of them all.

Hi SnowTrooper, your new truck and cap look great. I will look forward to those dimensions. I have contacted I think every cap manufacturer in the USA that I could find. I have talked with the corporate offices of several of them. I have been told repeatedly that Leer and Century (same caps different names) are not planning on making the Hi Rise 122. I asked them is their any talk about it in the future. I was told no. I did contact a company in California called ProTop. They seem to have excellent customer service. They have a mold for the Tacoma Generation 2, It was similar to the Leer 122, and they were in the process of making a new HI Top, called the ProTop 100 for the 3rd generation Tacoma's. I finally got confirmation on Thursday 3/23/17 that they just finished the mold and they were going to make the first top on Friday or Monday. They are going to get back to me with the exact height above the rails. It is going to be somewhere between 8"-11" above the cab they estimated. If anyone is interested they can look up ProTop. They do have a website with the caps on it. I have talked with several dealers that sell ProTop and they said they are good caps. Hope this helps. I have contacted all the major manufacturers and asked them to put down the specifications on their caps, especially on the hi rise caps, so a person knows how much room you will have inside. I also asked them to list the weights as well. Hard to believe these companies have been in business that long and don't have that information. The dealers don't have it either. It sure wouldn't be difficult for the dealers to measure their caps when they do an installation and then record it in a database, so they have that for the customer. Does not make sense to me???? Hope this helps others that have been searching for this information.

Using the centerline (lengthwise) of the bed and between the wheel wells the floor to interior roof measures 42" +/- 1/2" depending if you're on top or bottom of the composite bed ridges. This again is the Snugtop Sport Hi-Liner on a '17 Access Cab LB (6.1') Off Road.

Hows everyone liking their 122? Pros/Cons? Good for truck camping? MPG loss? Anything else?

FYI Leer is now making the 122 for 3rd gen. Not sure when they started. Mine is ordered, dealer said delivery is completely unpredictable. They no longer have online order tracking, so at any point from 2 weeks to 12 weeks he will get a message that it has been loaded on a truck.

Totally worth the wait for me, I'll be camping in it on long trips, and sitting up comfortably inside is a #1 comfort priority. I'm only 5'6" so it should work.
