Yea man they were pretty good eating. We had those two with a whole bunch of spot. They weren't as good as a redfish I think but they were still good.

I think it depends on the water temp and condition of the water...we never ate them in TX but Ive heard other say they ate them...They prob would be ok in the spring/cooler water temps....summer they prob get muddy tasting...just my opinion..

Good fishing off La Jolla, but be careful of your coordinates as much of the waters off La Jolla are federal preserves.

Not a fish but definitely dinosaurs. These two critters were inching through a pasture looking for a stock tank with water. This was about four years ago during a dry spell. We released both of them into a stock tank that stays full year round.

Looks to be about the same size. I'd estimate those snappers to be about 50 yrs old. What do you think?

I'd say it's probably close. I've got a buddy that just re did a pond at his grandparents old place and pulled a snapper out that was 30 years old at least, according to his dad. It was a little smaller than those.

I seriously cant wait to go back. Guy said we were just at the tail end of the run so what I caught was a straggler. Hopefully will be relocating there in the summer so there will be plenty of chances to find some monsters

Oregon and Washington rock for steelhead. Summer runs are a little smaller and tamer than the winters, usually. It's a expensive addiction but fun as hell. If you ever come to Oregon, hit me up we'll go chase fish

Guess I should probably bite here since it's a sticky, never noticed it before I posed my thread. I caught my most memerable catch 2yrs ago on July 18th 6 days after my birthday. I mainly fish for cobia, if you don't know why they are, they're a very powerful fish that can get over 100lbs and are also very tasty. So this day I was trying to catch one, I didn't quite succeed. I ended up catching the third second largest king mackerel (after extensive research) off the piers on the east coast. Definitely one of the highlights of my life as far as fishing goes. I'll never forget the line stripping from the reel or the sound it made.
