It's being installed by the shop doing the lift. I don't have the tools or time to do it all myself like I used to.

    But thanks for quick reply

Fantastic details, thanks for sharing. Planning to do the install this weekend. Did you top off with the fluid you linked to or do a full drain/replacement?

When pulling the CV axle out the differential drains. I did a full replacement of the diff fluid with the oil I mentioned.

I believe it's 1.6 qts but you may want to double check your manual

I'm doing mine this weekend I believe, so I will have the tools available next week more than likely.

Dumb question for everyone, but is an alignment required after performing this work?

Just figured I'd post an update. Did the ECGS needle bearing replacement a few weeks ago. Since then have about 400 miles on it. The noise before was the worst when it was cold. Even at 20 degrees it was still silent. Love ECGS. Good luck everyone else. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner.

Done with the ECGS job. Getting the CV axle out/in was a bitch...the needle bearing was easy with the tool.

Tool is available ($30 - incl. shipping). PM me.

Cut & broke off some stuff.
not needed unless it's been a while and you just want to get the alignment fine tuned anyway.

Thanks, wasn't sure since you have to remove the tie rod end.

Finished swapping the ECGS clamshell bushing in yesterday. Wasn't too hard, but encountered some issues I hadn't expected:

    1. Getting the new bushing in, even with the special tool from ECGS, wasn't as easy as I thought. It's tough to get it lined up perfectly straight.
    2. Refilling the diff fluid was a pain. Would definitely get a pump tool next time I have to do that.
    3. I recommend using a "no damage" tie rod end separator tool instead of the fork tool. I didn't know this existed until AFTER I had torn my boot trying to get that thing off.

I've got the Driver tool for getting the new bushing in, just PM me if you're interested. Already sold the ECGS removal tool.

Anyone in the Las Vegas / Henderson area hit up DH Customz 808!! Daryl lifted my truck with bilstein 6112s and 5160s and replaced my needle bearing bushing with the ECGS one.

Killer deal on installation and hes quick! Got my truck back in 3 1/2 hours. I left the ECGS installation tool with Daryl so anyone in the area that needs that done hit him up!

Did my ECGS bushing today. Never taken my CV axles off before so that was an experience. I was also amazed to see that i got my needle bearing out without breaking it. Anyway put the new one in and all is well in the world, thanks for all the help on this thread guys
