Well, they intubated my mother in law after they moved her to ICU. She was running a fever and I'm willing to bet has pneumonia now. Got to love shitty care by some nurses that this didn't get caught earlier. I was kind of thinking that earlier myself but she wasn't running a fever when we were there or was just a low grade at the time. That could very well explain the low o2 sats and need for the breathing tx's along with having a collapsed lung.

 

You have to stay on their asses in the hospital. Learned that the hard way with my dad. He ended up having pretty much the same exact thing happen because they didn't watch his stats closely enough. This was after he flat lined on the operating table once because of complications with anestethia and had to be revived. He ended up passing about a year later due to more complications at the hospital(went in for a cold, had a heart attack, lost all brain function, and I had to give the order to remove him from life support per his wishes). I truly hope you have a better outcome.

Well, she's a nurse there also and works in recovery. It's just a matter of piss poor nursing anymore and people just not doing their jobs just like everywhere else. I mean when you check v/s you check temp also. How fucking hard is that? Catches shit like this early and your patient has a better outcome. Me and her both have been in the medical field for years and learned old school patient care.

Just started the electric smoker. 225°F for the next 16 hours so the familia can have my very first ever attempt at brisket and, for 8 hours of that, pork shoulder, that will be made into pulled pork.

And for the record I said fuck it and put mustard on both before seasoning lol. Turned out good when I did this to my pork roast a few weeks back. Should be ready by family lunch at noon Sunday.
