hey Fam so I own a 2017 SR5 tacoma 2WD Double cab, she's a beauty lol so my question is im considering getting the 5100 bilstein shock all around and upgrading my tires to something big and nice, I wanna go basic off-roading nothing crazy but what tires do you all recommend that are nice and won't break the bank, also if I wanted to add a skid plate do I simply remove the plastic one underneath?! Is it a major job, mind you this truck is not the TRD or such, it's my DD but still wanna go out and have some fun in it and make it look sweet!!! Thx fam!!! I live in Cali also lol

    Whole bunch of shit! $$$
Tires I would get K "BRO" 2s BFGoodrich for the win man!

Skid plate you will have to remove your air dam I believe. There are some write up about it in the search bar up top.

    Good luck to ya!

Welcome to the site. 5100's are a good shock. I have the OME shocks on my DD with BFG AT's 265's. Great all around tire. General Grabbers are pretty good from what I hear. No first hand experience though. I believe that Discount Tire is running a special right now on line. They will always beat any deal that I've seen online or otherwise. Good luck and welcome.

Falken wildpeak a/t3w for tires. Stock size or just a hair larger.

you don't need a lift at all for basic offroading.

For skids, all I can say is to be careful when selecting one, as many of the aftermarket skids only work for the 4wd folks.
