Hey all out there in Tacoma world. I was wondering what options are out there in regards to my rear 3rd member. I recently grenaded the stock one and would like to upgrade so this doesn't happen again. I have a 6spd with 265/70-17's. What happened was, from a stand still I launched a little too aggressively and next thing you know my rear takes dump. I would like a Detroit truetrac only because I hate the open diffs up here in the Northeast where we get alot of snow, ice and rain. Anyone put a truetrac in their own? Would love some input on other upgrades too. Thanks.

I've thought of the same but you need to swap to an 8.4 from an non OR to get a truetrac to fit.

So I heard that a out our 8" rears. Sucks. What about anything else to sturdy up these rear diffs?

Also heard that you'd have to swap out entire axle housing if you want a non OR 3rd member. Doesn't leave us with a whole lot of options.
