What's the matter big piece of cardboard not good enough for you?? I've seriously been using the same folded up thick cardboard box for at least a year. I even use it all winter placed under my huge snowblower to absorb the melting snow left on it when I put it back in the garage. I remove it and lay it up against the garage wall to dry. It's so full of grease and spilled oil and fluids it's become impervious to water on that side. I'm not joking. I'm simply amazed that I'm going into my second year with this same giant folded filthy greasy box that I do all my messy work with: servicing snowblower, several mowers, tiller, tractor, scooter, Harley and old Chevy and new Tacoma. Silly but I just had to post this. I think getting it to absorb all that oil and grease made it stronger. I'll continue to post about it in years to come.

Wish I had a creeper but I decided at 67 no more tools or accessories!! Dannyblues

I use cardboard too, work better than a creeper in my gravel driveway.

Just to add some sanity to the paranoia, based on this thread I've decided to grease mine, well to my surprise immediately I had grease start purging from 1 or 2 pumps. Thankfully my buddy had a grease gun and grease already loaded so the only thing I wasted was time. Now maybe because mine is a privileged TRDPRO Overlord, but if you have a 17 I would say don't worry, just remind your dealer to grease the front two U joints during your next free service visit. Oh and my U-bolts were tight as well.

Then what is molybdenum grease? I've always been under the apparent misconception that lithium grease was light, white and thin and possibly even water soluble. Maybe because it's labeled on the plastic pint container that's listed to use on door retaining hardware and such ????

I've debated the variety of different grease ingredients and applications with the local Toyota dealer shop foreman who contends grease is grease. !!!

That's like saying grass is grass! Some you mow. Some you smoke. Dannyblues

That looks like the Rolls Royce of creepers. Plus the grandkids could use it up and down the driveway. Ours love anything that moves, rolls or has wheels.

Bought my oldest grandson a 49 cc scooter when he was five years old. Since then the past six years, he isn't tall enough to use it but fear not grandpa keeps it well maintained and runs it regularly!!! He's still asking who I bought the scooter for. Hasn't caught on to me yet !

I used the Amsoil general purpose synthetic grease on mine and it has worked out great. Felt a little smoother afterwards.

Owners manual states grease propeller shaft at 15,000 miles. I just had mine done asap when I read these posts at 11,300 at the dealer. Mine had three zerks. Other two sealed at factory per the shop mechanic who greased it. Dannyblues

I need to buy a grease gun. Can anybody suggest a good quality grease gun for the money? I don't mind spending more to get the best. A manual pump is the way I want to go (I think).

I actually grinded off some material of my Coupler Fitting to make it easier to get at those front fittings.

I have the gut feeling you are right. Thanks for your concern. I always appreciate replies and other posts that educate me.

Posted on this site is a list of the various driveshaft configurations that list the number of and location of the various configurations. Actually there's one where two zerks are difficult to access and some that may include mine that only have three with two sealed. Plus others. Depends on date of manufacture. My TRD was made in June 2016 according to the nameplate ID tag on the sill of the drivers side door. Dannyblues
