Hey guys I'm having trouble reinstalling the 887 and 5100 and looking for some ideas on how to jack the control arm and assembly into place.

I've tried ratcheting the control arm upwards and then getting the jack into place but even then the shaft of the 5100 is too difficult to coax through the top hat....
5100 c clip is set on lowest rung btw.
Control arm bolts are loosened but I need around 2 -3 inches more until it's through.20170326_131215.jpg 20170326_131228.jpg

    Any idears ???

(Keep in mind I'm solo installing at this point)

You first need to flip the coil seat. Then try it again.

You shouldn't see any of the black coil seat below the coil.

Did you not install the top hat yet?

I'm not sure why I stated this as a question. You did not install the top hat yet. You need a spring compressor to compress the spring (after you flip seat) and install the top hat. Then you can start the bolts up top to keep the coil and shock in place and attach your lower a arm.

I think he's doing it without the use of a spring compressor.

Flip the spring perch first as mentioned.

I did the same setup and didn't need to detach lca. It went in no problem. You want to make sure that coilover is assembled properly. HS off-road did that for me ($90 for both coilovers). I think it's a sweet deal.

Oh I see what you are doing. I'm not sure about this method. Looks dangerous to me. I think there's a video on YouTube where guy did something like that.
    Good luck and be careful

20170326_190643.jpg Thank you all and @Siblue.

That did it. I read the instructions over and it said to ensure spring perch was positioned as OEM . Yet on the installation diagram it shows the reverse which i obviusly missed.

I then used a ratchet strap and crank about 4 turns to make up enough distance to get the shaft through top hat. Followed by floor jack and the rest is history.

Thank you so much ! I was almost ready to call it quits because I didn't want to be fucking around when the sun sets and I need the truck to get to work !

Here's how she sits now. 20170326_190830.jpg

Roger that. Scheduled for tommorrow - Toyota is 5 minutes from my office !
Took it for a shake down drive and had a apparent right side drone /minor vibe. Hope alignment can resolve ...

Make sure you tell them you want the MAXIMUM amount of caster possible with as close to 0 camber as possible. Otherwise they will just adjust your toe and send you on your way.

    Thanks - noted.
Fingers crossed. Tried to keep it conservative for this reason of BS back and forth and trial and error adjustments.

Since you seem mechanically inclined, if you want to avoid conflict and confusion at the alignment trip, adjust the rear lower cam to push the control arm OUT as far as possible before you go in. If you trust the shop to do what you say you can just tell them what I said(max caster, 0 camber).

If you don't mind I'd be interested to see your alignment sheet afterwards. I'd just hate to see such a nice/new truck get a shitty alignment.

Also, those new coils are going to settle a little bit. You might lose some lift after some miles which will throw your alignment off.

That being said now that I think of it- that's (caster) probably what I fucked up on the right side because i backed off the control arm bolts a little too much I think on the right (at least more so than left) and noticed i had a weird lopsided vibe sound from right side on my shake down drive.

Also make sure they're torqued down nice and tight(after alignment especially). You'll get weird noises if they aren't and alignment techs seem to forget to tighten them a lot.
