I have decided to keep my 2010, rather than trading in, so I am going to pimp her out a bit.

I am going to follow all of the soundproofing advice I have read on this forum, but have some additional questions:

Regarding 3M Undercoating: I have read conflicting statements about whether it will adhere to our wheel wells. i would love to stop the sound at the source. Those tires are starting to hum! Does anyone know for sure?

MLV: I will be using one roll of MLV for the doors panels and the rear wall, and wasn't planning on doing the floor since I have read that it isn't worth the time/money.

But, I have been reading about a potential MLV alternative, Home Depot's "Shower Pan Liner" which is only .25 lbs per foot. Since I will already have the carpet up for amp wiring, and because this liner is cheap, Im thinking this .25 lbs of additional mass per foot plus a layer of CCF would be worth the money?

I was also thinking of putting this flexible liner on the door skins and jamb area over CFC and appropriate amounts of deadener. (In addition to the CCF/MLV under the door panels)

    What do you guys think?

personally, on my truck i put Dynamat Extreme all throughout.... doors, headliner, floorboard ect.... its so quiet now i had to get use to it. for a while i thought my ears were clogged up when i was in it.

expensive... yes very expensive, but worth it.

as for the 3m undercoating i cannot advise on that

AN update on the 3M Undercoating. It has been a while and the coating has had no issues, despite being pounded by gravel on a daily basis.

It looks REALLY nice to have consistent colored wheel wells rather than faded black/mottled rust, etc.
