I went to my local pick-n-pull junkyard because they had stock of a 2004 Tacoma (Tacomas are incredibly hard to find at junkyards in California). It was brought in about a week ago, and when I got there I was shocked at how stripped it was. I actually passed over it the first time looking for it because I didn't recognize it.

Everything was gone. The drivetrain, engine, interior, body panels. The engine wiring harness was cut in so many different places, the hoses were a mess, and everything remaining on the truck was trashed. It actually physically hurt me to see the entire wiring harness leading from the cab into the engine bay just cut in half when it would've taken a couple more minute to unplug it under the dash.

It's crazy how stripped this thing was. I found a picture of it when it just came to the yard. It was absolutely mint. It only took 10 days to get it to the condition it's in now. It was a pizza delivery truck in a past life.

    IMG_1001.jpg IMG_0986.jpg IMG_0985.jpg IMG_0987.jpg

I needed the passenger side armrest, and I was excited to see that the only remaining door panel was laying on the ground. I took the armrest and went on with my day. I got home and realized it was a driver's side not the passenger, so just my luck. Lol. I also needed a window regulator so I ended up getting one from a 1998 4Runner since the Tacoma had crank windows.

If anyone needs the dash trim, radio trim, glovebox, pass. door sill, or some random gray interior trim it's at the Oakland Pick-n-Pull. The condition of the truck really show how popular these vehicles are. It took less than two weeks for a basically mint Tacoma to get into the condition it's in now. There's a million other cars in the yard that still have everything mostly intact and have been there for months, yet this one is almost just a skeleton.

On and the frame was PRISTINE! I've seen worse frames on newer cars. It looked like it just rolled off the factory floor. It didn't even have water marks on it. It had no surface rust at all, it's like someone just manufactured the frame the other day. Even my '98 has some surface rust and it's been in California its whole life.

Got my ultraguage installed! Played with a little bit. Lots to set up on it. Don't have the grab handle so I had to drill through the flat trim piece. That was nerve racking. Trying to drill the right spot... Also got my hood struts in! No more prop rod!!! Thanks @RedlineTuning :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

5 luggers rusted too though, lol. I was surprised someone took the whole drivetrain on this thing. It had the 2.4l.

Does anyone know what kind of lubricant I should be using for the window regulators should be? What components on the power doors should I lubricate? Are you supposed to lubricate the motorized lock actuator?

Close enough, haha, even as a five lugger that's a decent chunk of change for delivering pizza

Huh, that's cool I didn't know it was food safe. Huh, might be good for the sticky slide on my bread/meat slicer.

SAD how much good stuff is ruined by POS people at pick and trash it places. It's rare to find one on a pick n pull around here.

White spray lithium grease works good on locks and regulators.
