When I was driving to work this afternoon, I noticed the truck was shifting really rough. When I would mash on the gas the engine would rev up but it took about 3 seconds for the transmission to catch and take off. It shifted very hard from 3-4 (pretty sure) it felt kinda spongy I had to give it some extra gas to get it to shift. I got to work and threw it in 4x4 and it did take off right when I mashed on the gas, I haven't been able to go very fast in 4x4 to test the shifting I'll do it after work.

The only thing I did to it last night was clamp a hose onto the a/c drain line and I took both battery terminals off to clean them and smear some petroleum jelly on them. The battery was disconnected for a good 10 mins.

I haven't looked at the transmission fluid yet (I probably will after work tonight) but I've read that sometimes they come from the factory missing a few quarts of fluid and I got the truck used with a little over 73k miles on it. I have a 2013 v6 4x4 I've had it for a little over a month now. I've done some research and I've read about some card having to be re-flashed and the missing tranny fluid and I've seen people say do a tranny flush I just wanna know if there's anything else I should do.

If it was working before you disconnected the battery the ecu might have to re learn, ive had some vehicles that took a couple of days of driving before thy smoothed out after killing the power, i would put them on the interstate and do about a 60 mile round trip.

The ones that came low a half a quart to a quart are the 2016's. I've never heard or seen any from 05-15 needing transmission fluid unless the tech didn't put the full 12 quarts in the machine, when doing a fluid exchange. Do you do a lot of towing by chance? Truck could've learned a crappy shift point during this time

So should I just keep driving normally and treat the rough shifting like it's not even there?

When I was driving home tonight I popped codes P0171 and P0174 and the TRAC OFF light came on. 171 says system too lean bank 1, and 174 is lean on bank 2. Could these codes be related to the rough shifting?
