Next weekend I've got the 11-14 off. If it's not too cold I'll be alright in my hammock and sleeping bag. I've got a cooler, a splitting axe, and firewood but as far as camping goes that's all I've got.lol

I've got a Coleman briefcase stove and my old backpacking pots, there's not much needed for a one night trip. I'll message the guys who are interested to close in on details staring Monday.
I was on my phone and thought it was someone else worried about gear.

So just wanted to throw this out there... made it up to the Clayton/Helen area again this weekend and just so happened to discover FS163 off of Highway 76. Highly recommend this trail. It's about 6 miles long and takes you really deep into the woods along switchbacks and hills. I honestly thought the trail was even better than Charlie's Creek trail, but there's less streams and more hills. 4WD is required on quite a few sections and there were a couple axle-deep mudholes when we went through. Thought I'd throw it out there as a recommendation if you're in the Clayton/Helen/Hiawassee area.

Here's a link to the trailhead:

No pictures, unfortunately. No armor needed, either. There's some wash-outs that are a little tricky but picking a good line you won't scrape a skid plate anywhere.

We had a lot of fun on it. I'd say it's the same terrain difficulty level as Charlie's Creek trail, just with a few more erosion wash outs and a couple deeper mudholes.

Works for me, there aren't many challenging trails in GA anymore. Now I just try to go fast haha

That unfortunately seems to be the case. On our way back south we stopped by Anna Ruby falls and had no idea the Tray Mountain trail was just a couple of miles away otherwise we would have tackled it, too. But it'll leave us something new to see on the next go around.

Just an update for y'all on Bell Mtn. in Hiawassee. It has been completely paved over and just about anything can get up it now. Its a shame because it was a fun place for a quick trip to a good view.

Just a couple of my vids, longer boring ones are on my channel, can't remember which trail this first one is, we did quite a few that weekend, Charlie's, dicks, bell, trey, ect. The reason for the back ups occasionally is because we were running everything in 2wd unless we had to use 4

Myself and a couple of other guys were talking about heading up and hitting AOP, we had a great time a couple years ago when we went, are most those guys still around?

Uh there's a few around. The SC guys are but I'm pretty sure I'm the only GA guy that is still here from the trip. We were talking about going in October but the weekend we planned it my cousin is getting married.
