I was wondering if their is any dangers of refill and replace Toyota WS ATF Fluid with MOBIL1 ATF? 2nd and 3rd gen 2012 and up ,have 75,000 miles and no warranty! Runs great, just want better Protection and cooler operation of tranny . I run Mobil1 in my engine since 5,000 miles and change evry 5-7500 miles since NEW ! Any Prfessional Toyo techs and Tranny Techs out there know of the answer? have any one done with NO Complications? Please help. Eustis,FL.

@PMK hasn't been on in a while, but last I heard from him he was using it with no issues. My research on it has lead me to believe that anything Dexron based should most likely be ok.
Myself, I'll be going with Valvoline Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF. There are a lot of ATFs that are "recommend" by their manufacturers for use in WS applications.
Supertech LV is supposed to be ok, as is supertech Dexron VI, it says so on the back of the bottle... the supertech Dex VI is licensed by GM, which means it is made to their specs. (Anything that says Dex VI must be licensed by GM, the licensing is much like Chryslers ATF+4)

    WS isn't anything special.

Personally, I don't like the idea of putting multi vehicle trans fluid in my truck, unless someone has ran it for over like 150k miles with no issues. I'd think that every trans fluid has their own additives that work for that specific transmission. I work at a Ford dealership, and I wouldn't dare put our Mercon V fluid in a Ford that takes Mercon LV.

I don't really get how the Supertech Dexron VI, which is supposedly made to GM's specs, can be also compatible with Mercon SP, which was replaced with Mercon LV AND be used in our trucks. Then, you go look at Supertech's Mercon V fluid and it says it can be used in place of Dexron VI, Mercon V, SP, LV and our trucks. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like basically all the same fluid, even though it's labeled differently.
