Yes pronounced (bahh-toll) you say it with speed so it sounds like butthole.

I will try and make this as pic heavy as possible. WARNING I suck at taking pictures.

This all starting from a thread post

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-bumper-build.468823/

I will be updating that ^ thread but will offer more detail here

I will be fabbing, sliders, a front, rear bumper and skids then throwing the lift in.

Been slowly collecting tools a goodies and now I'm ready.

    Nice rig!
1st gen, best gen. But I can't subscribe to a build that sounds like "butthole".
I tried to look it up, the only thing that came close was bay area toll bridges.

    Welcome and carry on!

Ripped out an old wooden workbench out of the garage and made a rolling bench out of an old table.

Picked up some tubing today! Been having a hard time finding some DOM. IMG_3253.jpg

Might not look like much but there's around 54 feet.

Also bolted down the bender, highly recommend drop down anchors. These allow for easy removal.

Checked my out the pinch weld and how much room I have. Before welding the sliders on I'll cut and hammer the few sections
    IMG_3262.jpg

Made a small adjustment with one dimension for the the tubing above. Originally I was set at 8 inches from plating and frame. Made a adjustment to 7.25 it gives it a closer tucked look but with plenty of space away from the body.

Everything cut out and test fit
    IMG_3264.jpg

IMG_3265.jpgLeft is completely welded, right is tacked. Overall, they fit awesome! Exactly as I pictured. So what you looking at is the near side is the rear and far is the front.

Did have a small hiccup starting with my first weld, my settings were little low on wire feed, after the small correction I was able to pull a nice puddle. I would say a little less then have way.

Still need to make a few bends and notches for the outside portion.

Didn't get as much done as I wanted but I'm in no rush. Finished welding the other side. Using flux core so there's a decent amount of splatter and using anti spatter spray for easy clean up. Here's a weld, I'm open to constructive criticism so feel free.

    IMG_3272.jpg

The JD model 3 best investment! it was a challenge bending an end of a 9 foot section tubing, with a homemade stand that twisted while applying torque. But a simple rolling computer chair solves the problem.

    Here's the final product
    IMG_3270.jpg
So the bent tubing ^ will be the outside of the lockout

Next step, mount what I have welded up against the frame and see how the CAD dimensions for the kick out look in real life and adjust accordingly.

I think that weld looks great for your skill level! Better than I could do, but that's not saying much.

It's looking like I'll have a little extra material... so I've been playing with the idea of kick ups

I enjoy this design by @RelentlessFab

    IMG_3276.PNG.jpg

This week I should be able to finish the kick outs.

Disclaimer: school is back in session so my time is limited. Updates will happen but might be slower.
