Key doesn't always open door

I've had my 2015 since I drove it off the lot with 7 km on it in July 2015.

My electronic key doesn't consistently work.

I'd hate to be 100 km up some forest service road camping and be stuck outside a locked truck.

How often do those things need a battery change?

 

Not often.

Take it apart with a quarter and see if the contacts need cleaning. You'll see if it's got funk inside or if it had some water get in.
