    I have an 03 double cab 4x4
    I've selected the rear brake convertion I'm going to be using ow for the front. Noting online shows 03 4x4 for front upgrade I want slotted and drilled with better calipers.

    Also does anyone know what brake booster is used for the upgrade to rear disc.

    Problem is if I get it wrong I have paid a non refundable import tax and shipping then a kit that won't work. I understand I'm taking a chance on the booster and new master cylinder. I have yet to see a Toyota even new ones with rear disc brakes.

    I've read abut the tundra upgrade a little bit.

    Haven't heard much about rear upgrades. Nothing about changing booster and master cylinder. Have you upgraded fronts to the larger Tundra brakes?

    Do you have a link to this rear conversion setup? Biggest bang for your buck for brake upgrades will be your fronts. The make up 80% of all your stopping power. Tundra brakes will be a HUGE improvement.

    Also, your profile says you have a 4" lift. Do you have a rear brake proportioning valve relocate bracket?

    That helped mine immensely.

    Holy Crap! Turbo Diesel...you got a build thread somewhere?

    I really want to do the Tundra upgrade. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the difficulty level for someone mechanically inclined and can follow instructions?

    If you can do front brakes on a vehicle you can do the upgrade

    he's out of the country. I remember him posting the rear disc brake conversion kit before. I think in south america somewhere?

    No but I did my Mustang and the Ford f150 booster and master made all of the difference since the rear resivore is smaller than the front.

    It's factory since I live in Thailand. 6 inch lift. Yes I did the rear bracket for the brakes.
    The brakes work good just mountain driving they get hot and fade a bit.

    I have yet to see rear disc brakes on a Toyota truck here.

    I found the kit is want now I'm looking for the fronts to do.

    I'll prderived the katzskin leather interior seat replacements with the heater since my truck doesn't have heat.. néed it in the mountains.

    I'll post the link for the rear convertion for the brakes when I get to my other phone.

    TBU (231mm calipers) requires at least a 16" Toyota rim or spacers to clear the caliper.

    edit: unless you only do the smaller TBU (199mm calipers), although someone will have to chime in on this one

    I'm looking at this kit except it shows in one pic dual piston and the other pics single piston.
    Will the 2004 tundra 6 lug fit my truck basically it's a 2003 tacoma.

    Sorry for my lack of toyota swap smarts

    This is the sequoia rotor kit I want for the rear brakes
    sequoia+rear+brake+rotors+coated
    Now I just have to find nickel coated rotors

    I used 2005 tundra v8 4x4 rotor pads and calipers. There 4 pisron calipers. There huge.20161029_154846.jpg

    I'll throw in a +1 on the Tundra 13WL 231mm conversion. Pretty easy install and quite a noticeable improvement, especially if you're hauling weight or dealing with mountains. The stock 1st gen front brakes are weak and much more prone to warping, whereas the Tundra caliper and rotor are much larger and less susceptible to overheating. One of the best mods I've done to my truck.

    If properly maintained, the rear drums are plenty strong. For all the work and money in converting them to discs, you're going to get a lot more performance by doing the front instead.
    Plus you get to keep your emergency brake and not have to worry about re-proportioning/master cylinder/abs shenanigans with the rear discs.
