They definitely look different to me, the rugged's being black and the base flares gray, but my dealer says it's the same flare. Is he correct?

Bump because I still can't figure it out and of course the dealers are of no help.

The flares are the same. Some are painted some aren't. Depends on the model.

I was referring to the base gray colored flares and the TRD rugged trail flares which appear black but could be the same gray as the base ones.

WTF is a TRD rugged trail? Some sort of southern package thing?

Don't think so, as I see them in Socal. It's a spin off of the TRD off road and ha black wheels, black flares, and different shocks. Jerez posted a pic of his a few replies up.

Same. Did someone have the brilliant idea to name a TRD "edition" after the f*cking horrible tires that come on our trucks stock? "Hello sir, I'd like the Shit Package!"

Sounds like some dealers made up their own thing to cater to customers. Kind of like the Texas editions (NTTAWWT).

I looked it up and aparently it was a thing for a couple years in some areas. I thought it would be more like the Texas package thing as well, but it was an actual package. Literally the same stuff/equipment as the offroad with just the different flairs and stickers maybe one more thing. Thats all i could tell anyways.
