Definitely true! Pretty lucky that the SF Bay Area doesn't have snow, salt spray, or alkaline soil, so things don't rust nearly as quickly as they do elsewhere! I would probably be even better off if I at least clean off and rattle can any exposed metal... Hmmmmm

I think I'll TRY to keep her like this for a while. I need a (financial) break from truck building :p So stoked though, got her running and actually got to drive it home today... Unfortunately, she's throwing a s*** load of check engine codes :[

    Update:

Installed new slotted and vented rotors, pads, and shoes.

Tried to rebuild the passenger door actuator, but for some reason it doesn't quite unlock the door. The little motor operates strong now and the manual door lock on the inside appears to completely unlock, but NOPE, you pull the handle and the door doesn't open :annoyed:

    FINALLY GOT HER REGISTERED!!!!

Changed the O2 sensor and my P0430 code went away (THANK GOD).

Tried to install the Yakima fork bike mount, but the length of bolt needed to reach the t slot nut is too long to actually fit into the mount because of the curved piece. Working on other options - just bought some all thread to turn the t slot nut into studs, also looking for t slot bolts.

Drove to LA yesterday and scored a white snug top for $450  just need to replace one screen, figure out how to wire the third brake light, and get a new key. Also thinking about a rack for it...

Building a sleeping platform today

Looks awesome, its all coming together:thumbsup: That snug top was a steal too! Were you planning on doing any suspension upgrades or just keeping the 5100's for the future?

I'm gonna keep the suspension as it is for now. I still need to wire the diff lock, replace the door actuator, install a rack on the snug top, figure out how to mount those yakima bike mounts, finish my sleeping platform and get ready for Burning Man... Soooo much to do!

I picked up the exact same shell from a guy on craigslist, ready, for a benji!!!!!!! Couldnt be happier! Built my sleeping platform with a friends help and have this advice:you can get a memory foam mattress at Wally for another benji and got 2 pillows out of it after trimming the mattress to fit!Pics to come.I can say with confidence that after sleeping on my platform overnight twice,it is as comfortable as sleeping on my Serta at home!Like I said ,I will take a bunch of pics and post them soon!
