Under warranty will Toyota only change your oil in 10k miles intervals? I have 4800 miles since June of last year and was told that if an oil change was to be done at my next appointment (two weeks away) I would be charged for the service...

Yep, they only change at 10k now under toyota care......you could do it yourself for less than they will charge you. Just a thought.

Well I thought it was funny since they actually changed the truck's oil at its first service back when it had only 2k or so miles (I asked for it). I will be changing my own oil, trying to get toyota to cover as much as possible before warranty is up.

Isn't it 10k or 1 year of use? Thought that is what the service manual states.

You get two free oil changes essentially. How and when you decide to burn those up, is your call. The rest is tire rotation and ...yea...tire rotations.

Yes, its 10k or 12 months. You do have to remind them its been a year though, on my wife's Rav4 she only had around 5k at the year mark and the service went too quick. I asked if the oil was changed, they said no. I told them it was a year old so they took it back in and did the oil change.

I just had my 12 month oil change with only 1,450 miles on the truck. Oil change was done no questions asked.

I remember taking my truck in for the 6 month service, (tire rotstion). Only had about 800 miles on the truck. The tech told me that the truck really didn't need tires rotated until the 5,000 mile service. I declined the service.
