A small handful of select mods.
If you are looking at Drop Bracket kits I would take a look at Zone Offroad for those.

Hello! I'm, since yesterday, a new owner of Tacoma TRD Sport 2017!

I will put a Rough country 3 inch lift kit in the next day. What is the best size of tire if i dont want to have any plastic trimming or spacer

    Thanks!

Hey guys, I've been running my Icon stage 4 kit for a while now with no problems. I have a mobtown offroad rear bumper going on soon, and a RTT in the future. I'm currently running the regular Icon AAL pack in the back. What's the best recommendation for a rear leaf pack to deal with the increased weight? The Dakars, or Deaver U402? Will I need to upgrade my rear shocks to run either of those? What else would I need to purchase/install to get it all working well?

For the Dakars, they have a bit more travel than the Deavers, so, if you want to utilize that added travel, you will need longer shocks, otherwise the shocks will be the limiting factor in the suspension cycle. Other than that, you will also need to get new rear brake lines with the dakars, again if you want to take advantage of the added travel. The Deavers are rated for 350 pounds over stock and are a very progressive spring so the on-road ride characteristics are outstanding, and paired with your icon setup will ride great. As you know, we have a very similar setup, sans the rear bumper part, but both the Dakars and Deavers are great options. I also think the Dakars provide just a bit more lift than the Deavers as well. But if you do plan on running 700# springs on your Icons, which I'm pretty sure you are, the Deavers will match up great giving you just a slight forward rake. So, with the added weight, you should sit perfectly level.

As always, you are a font of knowledge! I'll probably end up going with the Deavers then, as I'm not looking to get new rear shocks quite yet...

I think you will be more than happy with the Deavers. Driving to the gym this morning put a huge smile on my face. Truck drove so great

Roof Top Tent (CVT Mt. Shasta Extended Summit Series) Mountain bikes, camping gear and dogs. My kit is all pretty consolidated and I have taken extra measures to keep weight in mind.

Time will tell. A good buddy of mine has had his on his truck for a few months now, consistently running the tent and his haven't flattened at all. It's a 10 leaf pack including the dual overloads, so I'm sure you'd have to run a considerable amount of weight consistently to flatten them out any noticeable amount. If that day comes, I will reassess but we do have a local spring company here that will re-arch and add leaves as needed.

Need some advice please on my 2016 trd sport with Boss 2.5 all around
First, my measurements pre-lift with 17" stock alloys were 20.75" drivers front 21.25" passenger front and 21" drivers rear 21.50" passenger rear. Yes, I measured from the center of hub.
Now, with 18" wheels its 23.50" drivers front(with 1/4" spacer) 23.50" passenger front and 25" drivers rear 24.75" passenger rear.

Do I subtract 1" for the change in wheel? If so, then I only went up 1.25" in the front. that's why it looks like this in my 2 part video.

You got the full lift on the truck. Your center of hub to the lower fender lip is not affected by the 18" wheels. That measurement will only change with your suspension lift. The 18" wheels affect your scrub radius when you turn the wheel. In you second video I see you have SPC UCAS which is great because they will help. What you need to do is find an alignment shop that knows how to align with those arms. What they can do is use the adjustment settings to move your tire forward and then you will no longer hit on rear of the fender.

Come to stall when re installng spring and strut. The angle of the control arm is such that I can't get leverage to jack the assembly into the top plate....(using jack and positive pressure dissembly method )
    Ideas ???20170326_131215.jpg

I put the bolt in as a place holder and reefed on the control arm but I'm still a good 3 plus inches away from placing back into top plate and even still it feels like I might snap the 5100 center shaft....

Hey All, im looking for a 3-4 inch lift for my 2017 Toyota Tacoma that won't damage anything underneath. I want one so i can go from an occasional off-roader to an avid one (without fear of damage due to angles) and also to be able to fit 33's without rubbing. What are the bare minimum i would need to achieve that?? Like what springs, shocks, brackets can give me that height without damaging my truck?? or what kit?? i know that when all you do is change springs and shocks that there maybe be some bent or misaligned bars/brackets that could cost me big bucks down the road to fix and i really want to avoid that.

I'm looking for around 2.5-3" of lift. Drive 95% on road, though would definitely like to improve the off-road capabilities. That being said the options I've narrowed down to are: OME front/rear + UCA, ICON Stage 4 or King kit + UCA. Before I got my truck I had a mazdaspeed 3 with coilovers and only adjusted them maybe 2-3 times over 5+ years so I'm not sure the adjustability of ride height is a big selling point. I guess the real question is for the extra 1-1.5k for the ICON/King route do I really get that much more value? Ride quality, durability, etc. over the OME route...

For reference I currently have the stock Bilsteins in the TRD OR

5100s/OME 888s. Dakar leaf pack. Total Chaos UCAs. DeMello Sliders. BAMF Recessed Grille. Prinsu Cabrack and Toprack.
If you're only going to be off road 5% of the time the OME or Bilstein 5100s with the OME 887 or 888 coils would be a great set up for you. IMO the Icons or Kings would be overkill and a waste of money. Don't get me wrong... they are both great suspension systems but unless you will be spending more of your time off road they are not necessary. Save your $$$ and go with one of the prior mentioned affordable systems that will be plenty capable for your needs. Good luck and welcome to TW.
